Since March 2006, Dr. Francia is in permanent position as Researcher of Crop Science at the Department of Life sciences, Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia. Co-founder of the Genomic Research Center of the same University, he is member of the BarleyGenomeNet and performs industrial research and technology transfer activities at the BIOGEST-SITEIA technopole of the Emilia-Romagna Region. Current research interests include pre-breeding activity for yield and quality improvement in cereals through the elucidation of the genetic and molecular bases of grain yield and tolerance to low temperature and drought.
