Dr. Giampiero Valè has been working on plant genetics and breeding since 1991 and is currently acting director of the CRA-Rice research unit of Vercelli. His expertises are related to plant-pathogens interaction studies in barley, durum wheat and rice, development of a physical map for bread wheat chromosome 5A, and association mapping for agronomically relevant traits in rice. He is currently involved in national and international scientific projects.
